Manages all aspects of accounting/finance operations function within the designated area of responsibility at TCFIF, including Cash Processing, Invoice Processing and Rates & Terms. Includes direct responsibility for effectively managing the accounting/finance function to achieve efficient, economical performance while meeting corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements.
Major Areas of Accountability
• Manages all activities of the department. Includes setting priorities, monitoring performance, evaluating and developing procedures and motivating staff to achieve an efficient, economical work environment.
• Responsible for finance operations function’s adherence to all corporate, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements. As necessary, proactively reviews and analyzes any new or changing finance operations policies, guidelines or requirements for impact on designated division of TCF and develops internal policies and procedures accordingly.
• Oversees personnel functions of supervisory or senior staff within the department, including staffing, promotional changes, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary action and other issues that arise.
• Assists in the structure of complex transactions within the designated division of TCFIF. Reviews complex journal entries, transactions, workpapers and records for propriety. Writes complex correspondence (internal office memoranda, external correspondence, etc.) as required.
• Resolves difficult or complex problems or issues that arise, and oversees any special projects assigned to the department. Escalates significant issues to the appropriate level of senior management for resolution.
• Prepares and/or reviews reports and analyses for the designated division of TCF to meet internal and external requirements.
• Interacts effectively with senior management to ensure financial operations aspects of divisional activities are conducted in accordance with corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements.
• Effectively manage the department functions while meeting and adhering to corporate, legal, and regulatory policies, guidelines, and requirements regarding compliance. Work with the Compliance and Legal departments for overall updates, procedure changes or development, and resolution of issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Four year college degree in business, accounting , finance or similar or equivalent work experience
• Professional certification (CFM, CMA, or CPA) or advanced degree.
• Eight to ten years related work experience or six to eight years’ experience with advanced degree or professional certification
• Advanced end user computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving ability
• Strong leadership and managerial experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical research and reports and apply information to specific business situations
• Advanced organization skills
• Ability to work under deadlines
