Position Description Overview
The compensation accounting team’s main areas of support are: accounting for various aspects of payroll, vacation, relocation, bonuses, stock compensation, benefits, workers compensation, severance, and other owner-associate related costs. The team also supports various upstream and downstream teams, including business units accounting teams, Finance, Payroll Operations, Compensation, etc. We use SAP for payroll reporting. Oracle as our ERP, and ADP for payroll processing partner.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage the compensation and benefits accounting team, including members in our shared services center in India, while partnering with payroll and operations, to ensure the compensation programs are being accounted for in accordance with US GAAP. Review account reconciliations for appropriate completion and adherence with US GAAP. Deal successfully with ambiguity, managing multiple priorities and able to lead team through complex changes. Effectively influences to help support and implement organizational priorities and initiatives. Acts as a subject matter expert in payroll and compensation accounting practices and processes, provides customers with clear and consistent guidance and education. Leads and motivates the team to improve or simplify current process.
• Manage and execute month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial data in compliance with GAAP and Company policies. Recommends solutions, maintains consistency and leadership when issues arise during close. Identifies key risks and opportunities and works cross functionally to provide solutions that drive process improvements and strengthen the control environment. Advises on accounting and financial impacts of new or proposed transactions, quantifies opportunities and risks, and recommends solutions. Provides oversight to ensure systems, processes and internal controls are consistently applied.
Job Requirements
• Bachelors degree Minimum 10 years relevant financial experience, including experience at a fast-paced, multi-national company 3-5 years of People Management experience required. CPA preferred. Experience overseeing a team within shared service centers is preferred Experience with ADP is a plus Experience with Blackline is a plus Experience managing a remote/ offshore team is a plus Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills Public accounting experience a plus Experience with SAP/Oracle preferred Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively in a fast paced environment, while exhibiting exceptional attention to detail and continuously driving process improvements Ability to work independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills
