The National Tax Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, coordination and execution of all aspects of assigned Tax line of business projects throughout the full project life cycle from initiation through close. The PM is responsible for assembling project teams, coordinating with tax and other areas to assign individual responsibilities, and developing the project plan, schedule, and budget to ensure timely and results focused project completion. During project execution, the PM will be an active participant in all aspects of the project and is also accountable for managing issues and risks, facilitating change requests, maintaining project financials, and providing status reports. The PM is expected to manage their projects utilizing established PMI and Tax project management best practices and standards.
Essential Duties:
• Manage day-to-day initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and wrap up activities for multiple, complex projects
• Assist the Tax Portfolio Sr. Director with project, program and portfolio operations and standards development
• Facilitate cross functional project teams and stakeholder meetings, communications and follow up
• Effectively manage change and identify/mitigate project risks and issues
• Complete regular project reporting activities for the related program and overall tax portfolio
• Other duties as assigned
Experience:
• Minimum of 5+ years relevant business project management experience
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Technical Skills:
• Strong business writing skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and Project
• Ability to communicate both verbally and written at all levels of the firm
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Project Management or Program Management certification – preferred
• Experience managing technology projects (business or IT side) – preferred
Leadership Skills:
• Able to work autonomously and to lead a team
• Effective organization and time management skills
• Able to coach and mentor others in project management skills
• Ability to manage concurrent projects and/or programs
• Ability to work and lead efficiently with remote team members
• Able to grow and leverage internal and external networks
