Commercial Banker Development Program Overview
The Commercial Banker Development Program is 12-months of challenging curriculum, designed to support your personal growth and prepare you for a successful career in Commercial Banking and the opportunity to become a future leader at Citizens Commercial Banking. We offer one of the few rotational training program curriculums in the industry with a keen focus on leadership development and career growth. The mission of the Commercial Banker Development Program (CBDP) is to create the future leaders of Citizens Commercial Banking, therefore, it is designed to give you a great advantage and significant head start as you acquire the skills, technical knowledge and professional relationships you need to build a successful career with Citizens Bank.
Program Description
·The Program includes a combination of classes, self-study, systems training, and business line rotations over a 12-month period.
·Training begins with classes concentrating in accounting, financial and credit analysis and high-level corporate finance.
·Exposure to a range of lending, banking product and support areas within the bank through focused training sessions with experts from the various departments.
·Networking opportunities with senior leaders from various divisions that assist in advancing your career at Citizens.
·Mentorship is provided to each trainee through an assignment mentor and program ambassador.
·An early-career culture that includes a collaborative workforce committed to supporting your ideas and feedback and accelerating your potential.
·Opportunities to join in on Citizen’s volunteer efforts that give back to our local communities.
·Upon successful completion of the Program, graduates will assume the role of Credit Analyst and join an integral team within one of our Commercial Banking business line. A Commercial Banking Credit Analyst at Citizens conducts thorough research and analysis of market data, trends and other factors related to the financing that is a part of credit decisions. Supporting a team of Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers, our credit analysts work together to understand and apply credit policy and field questions related to financial analysis and interpreting financial statements. Graduates of the CBDP, benefit from a comprehensive curriculum in credit that equips them with impressive skills and behaviors that are applicable to a wide range of career opportunities for a lasting career within our organization.
Qualifications
Program Role and Responsibilities
As a CBDP Associate, each individual is responsible for successfully completing all aspect of the program including:
·The Accounting session, complete with two exams; an average passing grade of 75% on the exams is required to proceed with the Program.
·Attend all classes and complete homework and other assignments as required.
·Demonstrate competence in materials presented and ability to successful complete a Credit Proposal Summary write-up on a typical bank client.
·Commitment to work at Citizens Bank following completion of the program.
Qualifications
·An undergraduate degree from a 4-year accredited degree program or be an undergraduate senior graduating in December 2018 or May 2019.
·Demonstrated academic achievement in 4-year undergraduate degree programs with a preferred cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5.
·Demonstrated leadership in a club, sports team or volunteering.
• Self starter and self motivated
·Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
·Strong analytical skills
·Detail-oriented
·Team player who can work closely with others to complete projects under pressure with limited time and resources.
·Internship or relevant work experience preferred but not required.
·All majors will be considered.Coursework in Finance, Accounting and Economics beneficial but not required.Note:the Program will offer class work and training in all accounting and financial concepts needed; however, candidates must demonstrate that they have learned the basic skills required to continue with the Program.
·Hours per Week: 40+
·Work Schedule: M-F
