Opportunity Overview
The Annuity Products area is responsible for managing all Annuity products for Edward Jones. The team leads and coordinates annuity product strategy for the firm, drives the product lines and product partner relationships, and ensures there is adequate support for annuity products via external wholesaling. The team applies innovation and the application of subject matter expertise in order to ensure that branch teams have a consistent supply of high quality annuity products to meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a deep subject matter expert on annuity products to collaborate with stakeholders to shape the firm's advice and guidance, collaborate on suitability parameters, and identify opportunities to address client needs.
• Helps shape the annuity product strategy for the firm through the analysis of industry trends, competitors, regulations, and client needs.
• Expert in independently managing product and distribution partner relationships to ensure an adequate supply of quality annuity products and services and support for our branch teams.
• Collaborate with product partners to develop annuity products that align with firm advice and guidance and provide technical expertise to drive innovation around annuity products.
• Ensure product partner sales literature and presentations are accurate and consistent with Edward Jones guidelines, policies and procedures, and firm advice and guidance.
• Assist internal teams that provide branches with advanced annuity product-case consultation.
• Provide technical training to home office associates and serve as training subject matter expert as requested by Solutions Training area.
• Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitors, and regulations to make recommendations on needs and growth opportunities.
• Handle escalation situations as the senior in the area.
• Coach and mentor other Product Specialists on the team.
• Lead department or cross-departmental/division initiatives and projects.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred
• Series 7, 63/66, MO life/health licenses are required within 6 months of hire
• Industry designations such as CLU, ChFC, CFP, CFA, FSA, ASA are preferred, but not required
• 4-7 years of related experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret trends from business results and make recommendations to drive results
• Understands the product development process and can drive results from concept inception through product launch
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Can explain complex concepts in an understandable and actionable manner.
• Detail oriented; maintain and update accurate information on proprietary programs for the department or product partners.
• Experienced in relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to drive for results and influence internal and external stakeholders to align behind a common vision.
• Demonstrates an expertise in applying product knowledge to client situations. Is a subject matter expert on the products/services of multiple product partner/supplier.
• Demonstrate the highest level of proficiency in using the communication channels, creating and analyzing reports, developing measures, using internet reference material and external resources.
• Can present/communicate in multiple presentation venues (one-on-one and group settings)
• Able to apply intermediate and advanced knowledge in area of emphasis to tax and regulatory issues, Edward Jones business model, philosophies and values. Can make a compelling case for Branches to integrate these solutions/tools into their business to meet more client needs.
