Position TitleProcessing Specialist - Commercial Loan Operations

Job Summary The Processing Specialist performs the following functions with a high degree of proficiency and understanding of commercial loan products and required due diligence items included but not limited to the following: orders UCC searches, title commitments, appraisals, environmental evaluations, entity structure verification and flood determination. This position monitors the department’s work queue, and prepares the pre-closing checklist and maintains the loan pipeline. The Processing Specialist maintains a specialized knowledge of the Operations department’s functions, terminology, policies and procedures, and related laws and regulations at the local, state and federal levels. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure closing deadlines are met while providing high quality of customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
• Review approval memos, monitor work queues, prepare pre-close checklists and work with various vendors ordering and tracking various due diligence items.
• Coordinate with Closers (CS), Relationship Managers (RM), Relationship Assistants (RA), Branch Managers (BM), Credit (Portfolio Managers and Analysts), attorneys and various vendors to obtain required information for new, renewal, modification and extension loan requests.
• Assist in resolving loan issues by dealing with internal customers.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma, DEG or foreign equivalent required.
• Training in Commercial Lending preferred.
• 3+ years of commercial banking experience.
• AFS knowledge preferred.
• Experience with commercial collateral lien requirements preferred.
• Knowledge of Mortgages, Assignment, Subordinations, and Entity documents including entity structure.
• Knowledge of Title Insurance, including Endorsements, Schedule B-1 Requirements, and Schedule B-2 Exceptions.
• Knowledge of UCC Article 9.
• Knowledge of current bank regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task while still maintaining careful attention to detail.
• Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• General computer skills.
• The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina such as standing, sitting, walking, driving or infrequent lifting.
