JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for generation, growth and management of a profitable commercial loan portfolio, deposit portfolio and generating non-interest income. Retains and provides solutions to current relationships and develops new business through cross-sales and referrals. Deepen relationships with existing clientele and develop efforts to reach prospective clients. Properly administer assigned loan portfolio. Works closely with credit staff to perform in-depth analysis of new and existing loan requests.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Bachelor's degree required
• Professional certificate or graduate degree preferred
• 7 - 10 Years Experience in Function
• 7 - 10 Years Experience in Industry
• Completion of formal credit training with demonstrated skill in handling complex accounts with above average performance.
• Demonstrated ability to source and produce new business.
• Excellent analytical and negotiating skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to organize and deliver presentations.
• Strong time management practices, a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• High level of technical expertise.
• Experience with business law basics and loan documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Maintenance
• Actively manage and understand credit risk within the portfolio.
• Gather the financial information needed to monitor credit risk.
• Review and analyze financial information obtained from the client.
• Correspond with the credit analyst, customer, and on occasion with the CPA and an attorney to ensure all necessary information is obtained and any additional questions are answered.
• Make decisions about denying, recommending counter-offer or approval of loan requests.
• Ensure proper and accurate documentation of loan requests. Make sure the customer is completely familiar with the terms of the obligation. Ensure that the loan documentation is consistent with the Bank approval.
• The eventual collection of a loan regardless of the need to rely on others for servicing, documentation or other forms of assistance.
• Early detection and identification of problem loan situations and the surfacing of any credit deterioration to appropriate management and maintaining accurate loan risk ratings. Take ownership of credit quality of loan portfolio.
• Manages the total return of the relationship.
• Actively manage risk ratings, overdrafts, covenant compliance and annual reviews of portfolio.
New Business Development
• Grow a diverse commercial loan portfolio.
• Source, develop and underwrite new commercial loan financing requests for new and existing customers.
• Perform annual reviews with clients and be able to identify new opportunities for both the Bank and the client. Work with client to identify and understand their business needs. Develop solutions to achieve these needs and recommend appropriate bank products and loan structure.
• Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income and selling of all bank products and services.
• Establish and maintain a network of resources. Form working relationships with internal and external referral sources.
• Participate in local civic, cultural and community reinvestment act activities.
• Be a customer and bank advocate in negotiating terms and conditions of customer requests.
