Job Description:
This strategy role supports fraud prevention analysis for Personal Loans acquisitions. This will include analysis around first party, 3 rd party and synthetic fraud losses and fraud activity
The role requires the person to be highly analytical and the ability to work closely with business partners in Operations, Risk, Finance and Technology. Past experience in financial industry a must, with experience in fraud analytics or a credit risk role preferred. Knowledge of industry leading fraud tools and models a plus.
Identifying fraud trends and developing creative strategies for fraud prevention for the product and leading these ideas through to fruition with business partners is a primary criterion for success. This role offers a significant and challenging opportunity for the right person looking to apply existing skills while also providing extensive opportunities to further develop a broad range of fraud management capabilities within a large scale financial services firm.
Key deliverables (performance measures)
• Establish a good understanding of the personal loans product, operations and fraud activity.
• Ability to do financial and product analytics to evaluate acquisition related fraud losses.
• Ability to understand acquisition processes to evaluate breakages and possible fraud risk.
• Operate as a subject matter expert for the consumer loan portfolio.
• Proactively monitor fraud metrics and performance and advise management of trends and recommend applicable actions / preventive solutions.
• Evaluate new cutting edge fraud tools and implement with technology and operations.
• Support system testing and fraud-related ad-hoc projects.
• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensuring efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes

Skills:
Experience
• Minimum three years professional experience within the financial services industry. Experience in fraud prevention or credit risk role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fraud prevention industry practices and performance measurements.
• Extensive working knowledge of SAS and SQL
• Knowledge of fraud tools and models a plus
Competencies
• Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through on completion of complex, high-profile projects.
• Detail oriented with aptitude to implement quality controls throughout work processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work well with minimal direction. Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills required.
• High degree of proficiency with statistical software and other analytical tools, especially SAS & SQL.
Education
• Minimum Bachelors degree required, Masters degree in Economics, applied Social Sciences or MBA with emphasis in quantitative disciplines (statistics, econometrics, etc.) preferred.
