Job Description:
This position is the entry level role for the Sales Development Program. This is one of two limited-term roles within the 18-24 month program, where the incumbent has the opportunity for training, skills building, and practical experience in order to become qualified for transition to a Sales position upon successful completion of the program. This may include, but not limited to, work rotations and short term assignments in various business areas throughout the organization.
Under the direction of the Sales Manager, this role coordinates initiatives, internal resources, and customer care and servicing to assist other Sales positions in the Select Sales Segment. The position gains and utilizes knowledge of the approved sales process to support sales and retention behind the scenes.
Job Responsibilities:
• Learn the sales process and procedures; develop sales competencies.
• Facilitate customer care activities including engaging the appropriate resources to ensure effective resolution of customer issues, plan changes and new sale implementations. Demonstrate excellent ability to assist customers in resolving problems and issues.
• Research questions on behalf of the account team and customers.
• Assist with data collection and preparation of sales and renewal proposals.
• Ensure successful execution against established sales/service standards.
• Assist with resolving problems and issues.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance or related field or an equivalent trade-off of related professional work experience.
• Demonstrated effective listening, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills, along with presentation and customer service experience.
• Strong organizational and technology skills with ability to research, compile data, and prepare presentations.
• Aptitude for sales and negotiations.
• Learning agility and proven success with onsite training, e-learning, and job shadow assignments; aptitude for continuous learning and improvement.
• Ability to comprehend and follow complex processes, with adaptability to changes and high volumes.
• Life and Health Insurance License and P&C License (must possess or obtain within 90 days after start date in the position).
