The Modeling and Analytics Officer is primarily responsible for supporting the Manager, Modeling and Analytics in building and validating a broad range of models that are strategically important to BOK Financial. This position also runs models, performs analysis, and helps automate the department’s monitoring and modeling requirements.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. At the direction of the Manager, Modeling and Analytics, validate material models across BOK Financial. These include, but are not limited to, Dodd Frank stress testing models, Bank Secrecy Act related models, Interest Rate risk models, Fair lending models, Consumer and commercial credit scoring models
2. Perform one-off analysis used for strategically important decisions.
3. Build/maintain models for a wide range of uses for departments throughout the Bank.
4. Populate and run models owned by the Monitoring, Modeling and Analytics department including economic capital, interest rate risk models, and others.
5. Cross train with Risk Monitoring staff to better understand how risks are identified and measured. Assist that group with methods for identifying outliers. This will help identify trends and positions that are outside of our risk tolerances.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Primary skills needed: Extensive knowledge/understanding of mathematical theory and practice concerning techniques for prediction, validation, stress testing, identification of anomalous conditions, and summarizing data OR strong understanding of general financial industry practices
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, specifically describing complex quantitative problems and solutions in basic terms
• Strong knowledge of financial theory
• Outstanding decision making, problem solving and organizational skills
• Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, etc or interest in pursuing certifications preferred
• Knowledge of SQL and Visual Basic programming a plus
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Strong knowledge and understanding of risk exposure measurements and data gathering techniques
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Physics and a Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or other quantitative field and 2-5 years related quantitative finance or audit experience.
