At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Innovate, design, develop and test Transact SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and views, following best practices and standards for a N-Tier high availability environment.
Experience providing SQL Server Operation Support
Experience building SSIS packages
Demonstrated proficiency developing SSIS packages of high complexity (.NET) and scope while adhering to documented development standards
Demonstrated proficiency building data analysis solutions (SSAS, data warehouse, data mart, ETL, Reports)
Demonstrated proficiency with SSRS configuration, security, subscriptions and reporting building
Proficiency managing and analyzing databases with Microsoft SQL Management Studio
Provide technical expertise and insight to ensure successful completion of complex projects
Follow industry practices of analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance/production support of COTS and custom databases and applications
Work independently to develop solutions for complex business and technical problems
Interact effectively and professionally (at all technical levels) in a team setting with co-workers, leadership, stakeholders and business staff.
Communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with peers, leadership, stakeholders and vendors
Learn and understand business practices and processes to the extent needed to improve business outcomes through innovative data solutions
Coordinate with other team members to brainstorm and create new processes for data integration and data quality remediation to use in day-to-day operations
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Experience using MS SQL Server, T-SQL, Business Intelligence, SQL Management Studio, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Integration Services and SQL Analysis Services
Secondary Responsibilities:
In-depth knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle using different methodologies and frameworks (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, and SCRUM).
Strong experience with database diagramming concepts, theory and practices.
Ability to convert software requirements and functional specifications into complete working solutions.
Ability to develop analysis reports and queries from structured and unstructured sources.
Ability to conduct data-driven experiments, to interpret data, and to create innovative data-based products and services.
Ability to prioritize and problem-solve complex enterprise applications.
Must have strong planning, organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to lead database application development projects while communicating well both verbally and in writing.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.

Transforming raw data into meaningful and useful information for business analysis purposes
Normalized databases in a relational design

Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
