Our Corporate Solutions Group, is currently seeking an Occupancy Planning Manager to work on developing a strategic plan for space usage and location of programs and business groups. This role will report in to the head of Global Strategic Planning who is responsible for the overall supply-demand analysis to successfully develop a strategic occupancy plan that accommodates growing and diverse needs in the US and Canada.
What does this job involve?
Being in the forefront
As a Occupancy Planning Manager, you’ll be managing corporate-wide planning standards, company image control, and special, ad-hoc planning analyses, and also serves as manager to the entire team of occupancy planners, planning assistants and CAD administrators. This role will develop a 1-3 year roadmap for team locations that best meets their requirements. Use data, analytical insights and strong problem solving skills to develop and present multiple space scenarios to internal Facilities stakeholders. More importantly, the Occupancy Planning Manager will need to partner closely with the client facing Workplace Planning Mangers (three) to anticipate and understand the requests coming from different client groups, assess the space options available and develop options that account for competing priorities and requests; this requires strong relationship management skills along with dealing with very sensitive information.
Having the know-how
You’ll need to have a great knowledge in Corporate Real Estate. In this role, you will work with the Campus Development team and proactively drive the sizing and location of programs (client needs, amenities, campus needs) and make sure appropriate considerations and provision are made in advance. You will serve as liaison and will facilitates necessary communication between planning staff, and other Jones Lang LaSalle team members as well as account real estate staff as well as manages support vendors (architects, engineers, furniture, etc.) that may be required from time-to-time in order to deliver the services outlined (important to have “partner” mindset). Also, you will lead, develop, and manage the yearly Campus Re-stack process by leveraging demand needs and portfolio data analytics.

To be successful in this role, you will need to provide strategic space scenarios and negotiate solutions with team members, stakeholders to ensure a balanced planning and occupancy strategies that meet business needs while minimizing risks; guarantee that Jones Lang LaSalle’s continually evolving “best practices” are incorporated into the work product of the entire team; and make sure a strong collaboration with other JLL service lines. Moreover, you will be charged with assisting and participating in the development & integration of space management tools & processes to improve efficiency.

Smart
A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Architecture or other quantitative disciplines, or equivalent practical experience; also along with minimum of 10+ years in Strategic Space Planning, Architecture or related field. Previous experience in Project Management at a strategic level is highly desirable.
Dynamic and Highly Skilled
You’ll need to be dynamic and technologically savvy and utilize software to support planning solutions and communicate ideas clearly with planning team and lines of businesses. You will be successful if you have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlook-up, cell calculations), and CAFM tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to consolidate data and floor plans into Power Point for presentations to client and lines of business is highly valued. You’ll be effective in you role by learning to ask the right questions to understand the underlying needs of our clients. You’ll discover how to be proactive and innovative with solutions your stakeholders.
Organized, Open and Flexible
Excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken – and we’ll expect you to work independently, multi-task, and manage your time to meet deadlines. You keep on top of things as you’ll often need to reorganize your time day to day, to deal with your team’s changing necessities and requests. An individual with strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients will successful in the role. Most importantly, you’ll want to work as part of a diverse supportive and talented team.
