Job Description
Position Description
Responsible for executing assigned audit, advisory and continuous monitoring activities, primarily relating to Ally Bank's deposits, wealth management and brokerage, and mortgage business processes. Responsible for demonstrating skills in assessing process risks, including the supporting IT applications, identifying and evaluating the design of controls, executing and documenting audit tests. During the audit process, completes work in accordance with audit methodology, any and all applicable standards, and defined plans, budgets, and schedules.
Job Responsibilities
• Support audit planning and fieldwork (as a supervised team-member), including: tests of controls and substantive tests of details, analyze business process and internal control documentation, and develop written summaries of audit findings and review them with Audit Management.
• Develop an understanding of Ally's audit approach, methodology and tools/technology.
• Maintain regular communication with Ally Audit Management, and participate in meetings and interact with Business Unit and/or Enterprise Function management under audit.
• Assist with identification of risks and development of audit scope/strategy.
• Provide guidance and leadership to staff auditors as applicable.
• Perform ad hoc projects as assigned to assist Audit in analyzing Ally's risk and control environment.
• Develop and maintain proactive working relationships with personnel across Ally.
• Respect the confidentiality of the Ally workplace, its clients, and employees.
Qualifications
• Bachelors (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or other related field of study
• 2-4 years of relevant experience within the financial services/banking industries preferred and/or internal or external auditing. Industry certification preferred (CPA, CIA, CFSA, CFE, etc.)
• Prior financial services audit or banking industry experience. Familiarity with consumer regulations and operations preferred. Knowledge of deposit operations, brokerage and wealth management operations and/or mortgage operations businesses is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized individual
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Proven ability to excel in highly interactive team environment
• Familiarity with risk and control concepts
• Awareness of SOX and related validation testing executed by management
• Critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Experience using TeamMate, ACL or other Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) preferred
• Available to travel
