Prudential Financial is seeking a strong, innovative communications professional for a newly created role of VP Internal Communications. This position will oversee Internal Communications/Employee Engagement and provide strategic input on External Communications for Workplace Solutions Group (WSG) and Group Insurance (GI) businesses. You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic communications plans that drive culture change and increase employee awareness and understanding of business and talent objectives, policies and programs, as well as oversee the development and deployment of internal communications for Group Insurance. In addition, this key role will have accountability for ensuring that WSG and GI large scale meetings, conferences and other events are driving leadership goals and supporting Communications strategies. You will partner closely with teammates across Communications to ensure a free flow of information and ideas between businesses and with key internal partners.
Reporting to the Vice President, Head of WSG Communications, Content and Creative, this role will:
• Work closely with the head of WSG Communications, Content and Creative to lead cross-business employee engagement for WSG initiatives and priorities by providing strategic direction for development of comprehensive engagement plan
• Lead the development and delivery of a WSG communications plan as well as a GI Communications that aligns with and supports the strategic objectives of each business group and is well coordinated with Retirement communications plan that is geared to creating a shared understanding, aligning employees to their leaders’ vision, providing the information employees need to succeed and fostering employee engagement
• Partner across WSG Communications, Content and Creative team to align internal and external messages, leverage content, coach and position senior leaders for internal and external communications success
• Establish and foster collaborative partnerships across WSG Marketing, Communication, Corporate, cross business unit partners and others, to optimize Internal Communications capabilities
• Provide insightful feedback and create stretch opportunities for several high performing Directors, and partner effectively across all WSG Communications, Content and Creative team; as well as with counterparts in ISG and other Corporate Centers
• Develop and implement best practice communications processes, tools, metrics and scorecard.
• Plan and execute several conferences and events across WSG & Group Insurance and within its segments.
Qualifications
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading communications initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience
• Experience leading company-wide communication initiatives with the ability to translate strategy into action
• Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with diverse leaders, teams and styles
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing small teams
• Clear, concise and engaging verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PPT)
• Positive attitude, motivated self-starter and action-oriented with a healthy sense of fun
