Organizational Scope
This role will be dedicated to DSA Re business, which is a sub-segment of AIG’s Legacy SEC reporting segment. The successful candidate will be a member of an actuarial model production and development team. This individual will have primary responsibility for the DSA Re whole life actuarial projection models. The modeling team is tasked to onboard GGY Axis models from consultants, redevelop them in a production environment, ensure the models can be updated, serve as the subject matter-expert on the models and execute required model runs quarterly. The model purposes include, but are not limited to, BMA Technical Provision, GAAP valuation, ALM, asset adequacy (CFT) and management analysis.
Your Contribution at AIG:
• Own and execute all model development for the DSA Re GGY Axis whole life models through the model development life cycle
• Execute quarterly production runs for the DSA Re GGY Axis whole life models.
• Perform unit-testing and peer review as assigned
• Assist and coordinate with model developers that work on models other than whole life to ensure consistency in approach and presentation
• Maintain whole life model documentation
• Analyze model output and explain unexpected results
• Ensure model is in compliance with standards promulgated by the DSA Re Axis Model Steward and AIG model validation policies
• Utilize technologies accepted by the DSA Re Axis Modeling team to execute production runs and report results
What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have significant experience and expert-level knowledge in GGY Axis and be knowledgeable in the valuation, assumption-setting, economic risk, reinsurance and statutory and GAAP accounting aspects of actuarial modeling for US individual life, individual A&H and payout annuity businesses including structured settlements, SPIAs and TFAs. The successful candidate must have a desire to improve process efficiency and appearance of final work product.
Education
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science degree or above in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative field and be a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
Professional Experience
• Functional knowledge of whole life products and corresponding Statutory and GAAP regulations
• 5+ years of relevant experience in an actuarial modeling capacity.
• Significant experience and expertise with GGY Axis
• Comfortable working on ad-hoc projects with ambiguous goals.
• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional collaborative actuarial teams.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and SQL. Coding experience, experience with Tableau or Alteryx is a plus.
• Actuarial competency related to valuation and modeling of US whole life products including participating products.
