Position Overview
Marketing & Communications Division of the Single-Family Sales and Relationship Management organization is embarking on an ambitious digital transformation agenda. To meet this goal, we are building out a new Digital team with end-to-end accountability for all Single Family digital experiences and our Marketing technology (MarTech) capabilities.
The Director, Digital Development & Operations is responsible for maintaining and expanding the Single Family digital ecosystem. Our ecosystem includes ownership of our marketing technology (MarTech) stack as well as the development and operations of all of our digital experiences. The Director must be able to execute across the entire digital lifecycle, from technical strategy development to delivery and operations. S/he will manage a growing team of front end web/mobile developers, CMS architects, and an operations team of web/email operations.
Your work will fall into three primary categories:
Digital Development: Prioritize opportunities to improve our digital experiences. Define a roadmap and backlog of user stories and manage execution from development to delivery. Manage a team of front end and CMS developers as well as external agency resources. Lead code reviews, test suite reviews, and assume accountability for the quality and accuracy of our digital experiences.
Ownership of the MarTech Stack: Partner with IT and external agencies to source and implement digital marketing technologies that enable Marketing to be more efficient and effective. Develop a MarTech roadmap and own the procurement and vendor/risk/technical assessment processes. Scan the marketplace to recommend new capabilities and evaluate asks from Marketing and other business partners.
Web & Email Operations: Provide oversight for operations across web and email channels. Monitor digital channels and operations to ensure business goals and KPIs are achieved. Develop scalable production processes and workflows that reduce time-to-market and reduce SLAs.
Qualifications
• Typically, 15+ years digital development experience with an emphasis on front end development, digital technology implementation, and web/email operations
• Bachelor degree in business Management, Marketing, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to confidently present to executives and articulate complex technical concepts in business language
• Demonstrated digital architecture experience
• Keen interest in how technology improves business processes and makes team members more efficient and effective
• Ability to mentor junior members of the team and driving their technical and professional development
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in Financial Services or other regulated industries (healthcare, pharma, energy) preferred
• Occasional travel between McLean, VA and New York, NY
