Description
Fund accounting comprise of various tasks supporting the legislative reports that includes periodic analytics on financial statements, current financial position of plan/sub plans, tax movements to provide the investment performance of funds, comparison & prediction of interest income through asset management fee and calculations & payment of net contribution tax monies to be paid to Australian Taxation office on financial year end.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create report on fund under management
• Produce a Trial Balance Analytics report to check the consistency of fund
• Gather data from various sources like Oracle, TRT & internal/external sources and prepare a consolidated spreadsheet to work out on investment performance
• Prepare allowance spread sheet using bank statements, prepare journal, post journal, print, peer review, and send to Treasury for payment
• Gather reports from R&F, Oracle, Internal review and data team (deductions, VBs, Due & Unpaid, No TFN, Insurance proceeds, Unallocated Conts, Benefit & Cont Rec) & from Internal Fund Control Team (TSA Recs) to prepare a valuation report for actuary and CSM team
• Daily calculation and payment of net contribution tax monies, to be made available for remittance to the Australian Taxation Office at end of financial year for 348 MST AUS sub plans
• Responsible for day to day management of activities on operations floor.
• Workflow analysis and process improvements.
• Preparation of accounts for critical clients with high complexity.
• Ability to meet delivery timelines for the funds and task allocated.
• Timely raising queries to onshore and getting resolution.
• Client communications and reviews
• Creation of Dashboards
• Creation of monthly reports
Note: Applicants should be flexible working in shifts
Knowledge and Skills:
• Financial Reporting and APRA knowledge preferred
• Good analytical skills to comprehend fund performance under management
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required
• Ability to multi task and should be a self-starter
• Ability to handle difficult client situations and derive strategic solutions
Education:
• Commerce Graduate
Qualifications
Eligibility:
• Minimum 4 years experience overall
• Minimum 12 months experience as Assistant. Manager / Process Champion
• Should have at least “Meets Expectations” or equivalent rating in last appraisal
• Should not be under any Performance Improvement Plan, or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 months
• Should not have applied for any other IJP within Mercer in the last 3 months
