Liberty Mutual Group’s US Global Retail Markets (GRM – US) is the largest, offering automobile, homeowners and other types of property-casualty insurance products, as well as life and annuity products, to individuals in the United States. US Global Retail Markets personal insurance products are sold under the Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance brands and are distributed through a number of channels and partners.
The Strategic Partnerships Group rolls up into GRM – US. Our mandate is to efficiently expand the partner footprint through driven policy production, create and deliver compelling three-way value propositions, and be the business development center of excellence for GRM – US. Alliances include partnerships across numerous verticals including employers, associations, OEMs, financial institutions, connected home, fin-tech, insure-tech and third-party binding channel partners. We are focused on growing both Liberty Mutual and Safeco brands profitably, adding more value for our existing customers and building out our powerhouse team.
As Director of Business Development and a member of the Partner Sourcing team within the Strategic Partnerships Group, your primary responsibilities will include building and managing a robust pipeline of potential partners across multiple verticals, engaging key stakeholders across the GRM – US organization to ensure strategic alignment and prioritization, and managing the on-boarding and transition plan for larger, more complex partnerships. Additional responsibilities include preparing and presenting to leadership business cases in support of a potential partnership, negotiating contract terms and deal economics to achieve highest ROE and effectively transitioning new partners into segments for ongoing partnership management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (with a concentration in Marketing, Business Administration or Communications preferred) or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressively more responsible sales, marketing or relationship management experience in a complex environment.
• Experience within P/C insurance or financial services industry with broad knowledge and understanding of multi-channel distribution.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of the company's services, products and marketing techniques, insurance contracts, funding and rating.
• Requires highly effective oral and written communication skills including presentation, persuasion, relationship management, timing, tact and negotiating skills.
• Requires analytic and financial analysis competencies
• Demonstrated computer skills
• Must be able to accommodate up to 50% travel
