About Global EFS
The EFS trading desk has several areas of focus including: (1) "Distributed products" to Private Banks across the globe, wealthy individuals, regional broker/dealers, etc., (2) US stocks, ETFs, indices, hybrids with Rates or Commodities, (3) Corporate clients in need of derivatives to better manage their stock repurchases for example, (4) Quantitative investment strategies, (5) Long dated index products for insurance companies, endowments and pension funds, (6) trading with hedge fund counterparties, (7) JVs with other areas including the Converts desk & the Flow desk. The desk is also actively involved in communicating views and trade ideas with other trading desks on the equity floor such as the Flow desk and the Cash desk.
About EFS Trading
The EFS Pillar 2 Trading team handles the development, pricing, trading and risk management of all derivatives and equity structured products related to Quantitative investment strategies. Primary responsibilities are implementation of these indices and strategies, their design and structuring, pricing and risk managing derivatives associated to these instruments.
Overall Purpose of the Role
Full time opportunity on the EFS trading desk with a main focus on Pillar 2 trading – Quantitative Investment Strategies
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
• Work closely with the structuring team and solution team to create solutions for our client base.
• Work closely with our Infrastructure team to roll out strategic solutions for designing, backtesting, management of indices along with client facing connectivities.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
• Design, backtest, implementation, calibration of Investment Strategies across asset classes (eg smart beta, risk premia, etc)
• Providing access to these investment strategies through swaps, options, notes, derivatives, ETF, ETN, or other wrappers
• Hedging and risk managing the QIS trading books
• Design portfolio of risk premia
• Create new risk premia indices based on machine learning techniques and big data
Basic Qualifications
• PhD in a strongly quantitative field, eg Maths, Science, Finance
• 10+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, including the generation and risk management of systematic strategies
• 3+ years of programming experience, or relevant degree in the space.
• Competent in several programming languages, preferably including Python with Pandas
Preferred Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in different asset classes including some of the following: equities, FX, Fixed Income, Commodities
• Series 7 & 63 Licences
• Numeracy and proficiency in Excel packages
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize task and meet deadlines
• Team player who is willing to pitch in & work with others to get the job done
• Familiarity with accounting & traded product P&L production
• Familiar with derivatives
• Broad experience of financial products and their practical applications
• Some familiarity with complex, non-standard transactions would be helpful
• Strong statistical foundations
