LakePharma is a leading biologics company specializing in antibody and protein engineering, cell line development, and protein production. Our services can be fully integrated, creating a customized solution for all our customer’s molecular biology, cell line, and protein needs. We just raised $30m in growth equity from Summit Partners & Ampersand Capital Partners for expansion purposes.
We are rapidly growing and seeking a talented individual to join our Technology & Resource Management team as the Director of Portfolio Management. The ideal candidate is a leader who can successfully manage multiple projects and priorities and partner successfully across the business with key stakeholders.
You will report directly to our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and be responsible for solving client problems while providing exceptional service and help develop new business opportunities. This role will be based in our Massachusetts office, some travel will be required.
Functional responsibilities will include:
Liaison and work closely with Commercial Operations, Finance, Accounting & Procurement teams, and all Business Units to ensure successful completion of all projects within your portfolio.
Monitor on-going projects and work flow
Monitor competition and work closely with VP, Commercial Operations to contribute to LakePharma pricing structure
Document project issue priorities and expected resolution service-level agreements (SLAs)
Work closely with business units in order to put together resource plans and coordinate on projects to ensure success
Create efficient processes for reporting on and potentially escalating resource contention, technical dependencies, and other types of project/portfolio risks
Leverage tools and improve processes for portfolio efficiency
Manage revenue projection and provide guidance to Commercial Operations, Business Units, and Senior Management
Responsible for quarterly management review and quarterly review profit sharing bonus plan
Manage all customer resource issues together with Commercial Operations, Finance, Accounting & Procurement, and all impacted Business Units.
Function as Project Manager and or partner closely with Project Managers as needed on difficult or large dollar value projects
Requirements
To be successful in this position you will need to play a key role in fostering a positive, “can-do” and enthusiastic culture amongst the team and demonstrate constructive leadership across business units. You will also possess a willingness to learn new things and to look for innovative or non-standard solutions to problems.
Job Requirements:
MS or Ph.D. is required; MBA is a plus
Relevant experience in a biotech or biologics company is required
Experience working with external teams, remote teams/team members, and managing vendor relationships
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Executive level reporting
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent project management skills Self-starter attitude; comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities/needs
Efficient management of workflows including prioritizing, planning, coordinating, and executing
Experience in Business Development, Commercial Operations or Product Management is essential to this role
