Under general direction, underwrite assigned Management Liability (D&O, EPLI, Fiduciary, and Crime) risks. Analysis and recommendations including major underlying assumptions, decision-making processes and conclusions. Support underwriters located in regional locations to drive national growth in targeted products, as well as, ensuring work is completed timely and accurately. Follow best practices and align with quality procedures to ensure that policy issuance information is complete and accurate. Adhere to established workflow processes and make recommendations for improvements as necessary. Responsible for the documentation and communication associated with the underwriting of assigned accounts. Review accounts outside of authority with managers. Communicate and negotiate terms with Brokers.
70%- Underwrites assigned risks. Within authority, prepares quote letter, or outside of authority, reviews submission analysis and recommends rates to the supervisor.
5 % - May make sales calls to market and cross-market products.
25% - Develop underwriting skill through on-the-job training and participation in training courses.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of insurance industry experience preferred.
• Finance or accounting course work preferred.
• Working knowledge of financial statements.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication skills to manage work flow, ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills, customer focus, and interpersonal & relationship management skills.
• Strong proficiency in PC applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Works well in team environment.
