Job Description
The Regional Safety/Security Director serves as site security leader for Visa’s Miami 800+ personnel campus and Call Center and 300+ staff located in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, and Venezuela. The role also has regional responsibility for security programs such as Global Security Systems, Visa Inc.’s Key Controls, budget management, emergency response procedures, and building procedures and processes for Visa sites in Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Region. The position requires extensive interaction with LAC’s Group President, Group Country Managers, and Country Managers.
• Executes overall physical security management for the Miami and LAC people, offices and processes
• Directs and coordinates regional executive safeguard and high-risk travel safety programs for Visa Inc. travelers
• Administers regional risk monitoring program via risk assessment and risk management methodologies to ensure the security of Visa Inc. employees, contractors and visitors
• Leads and coordinates Visa Inc.'s internal and external investigations and ensures compliance with Corporate Compliance policies and procedures
• Manages Visa’s executive support program for executives and senior management in LAC and provides backup to other regions
• Coordinates updates for the Site Emergency Response Plans (SERP) for the Latin America & Caribbean Regional Headquarters in Miami, Miami Call Center, and LAC's sub-regional offices
• Directs the Emergency Response Team at LAC Headquarters and facilitates training for team members, supports the regional Office Response Teams (ORT) as an active member in coordination with the crisis management team
• Manages and Coordinates security for the Country Managers in high-risk countries such as Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia
• Coordinates, manages and administers vendor relations and contractual agreements for regional security-related programs
• Develops, manages and monitors the security budget for LAC Headquarters, Miami Call Center and Visa Inc.'s 12 sub-regional offices
• Serves as a local member of the Work Place Violence (WPV) Threat Assessment Team (TAT)
• Proactively alerts Visa Management in a timely fashion of Regional Events posing a threat to company personnel, property and/or assets
• Maintains customer relations through regularly scheduled meetings and security reviews with the business units, assists the business with compliance and regulatory mandates
• Maintains liaison with local security organizations to include the Latin America Regional Council (LARC) in Miami and OSAC Country Councils in countries hosting Visa Offices
• Conducts Security Compliance and Risk Assessment Reviews of Visa Offices and third party vendors in the region
• Provides direction in the design phase of new construction and renovations to ensure adequate and consistent levels of physical security throughout region of responsibility.
• Serves as the customer contact point for Visa Inc. security related issues in the region
• Ensures liaison with local law enforcement personnel and Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Regional Security Officers in countries hosting Visa Inc. Offices
• Supports Sponsorship, Marketing, Sales and other business units with events and meetings hosted in the region
• Assists the Visa Safety Manager with the administration of Visa’s Global Safety Program
Qualifications
• Minimum of 12 years of law enforcement, military and/or corporate security and investigations experience
• Demonstrated solid and relevant experience in physical security management, risk assessment, and mitigation measures
• Fluency or advanced language skills in Spanish and Portuguese
• Regional and/or global work experience and cultural knowledge
• Possession of relevant certifications or professional credentials a plus, such as PCI DSS, PSP, CPP
• Familiarity with facility security, processes and environment as well as internal procedures to ensure compliance with policy
• Ability to liaise with internal security and business groups to ensure compliance with Visa policies, internal and external regulatory requirements, government regulations, and security best practices
• Candidate must be customer focused and open to learning and assuming various tasks in the region
• Executive protection/support experience + ASO eligibility is a plus
