What you'll do
As the Director of Payment Programs you will lead Billtrust’s Payment Facilitator program, coordinating all efforts associated with merchant acquisition, onboarding, and support. The responsibility for ensuring the profitable growth of Billtrust’s portfolio of merchants will be yours to own. You will drive incredible growth by enabling the sales, implementation, support, and finance teams at Billtrust to understand their role in achieving maximum adoption of Billtrust’s payment products.
• Manage and enforce Billtrust’s underwriting and regulatory policies for onboarding new merchants
• Spearhead the effort to automate all processes associated with new merchant onboarding/screening/support and funds flow between Billtrust and its merchants
• Design and manage pricing strategies (cost plus, blended, and convenience fee models) for Billtrust’s merchant acquiring and ACH acceptance products
• Work with Billtrust’s third party payment vendors, inclusive of processors, sponsor banks, and technology providers, to scale our Payment Facilitator and Merchant of Record models
• Establish, track, and report on all metrics associated to credit card and ACH product line revenue growth and profitability
• Collaborate with Billtrust’s product and development teams to ensure the timely roll-out of new features that support the growth, profitability, and satisfaction of Billtrust’s customer portfolio using our payment products
What you'll bring to the team
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio of merchants throughout the onboarding and operational lifecycle - 7+ years of relevant experience
• Previous experience at a payments processing company – financial institution, processor, or otherwise
• Solid understanding of merchant acquiring, funds flow, the four party model, and ACH processing
• Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally, with various levels above and below, internally and externally, and to technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated financial acumen to manage pricing programs, identify and calculate cost savings, and to direct planning/project allocation
• Established background in promoting a proactive risk culture and driving control initiatives, including knowledge of regulatory requirements
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences of all levels of an organization including ‘C’ suite
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
