Director, Financial Reporting
Job Description
Publicly-traded Global Technology Manufacturing Company is seeking a Director of Finance, Technical Accounting & Reporting to join their Corporate Finance Group. This is an amazing opportunity to join a dynamic Company located North of Boston.
As the Director of Finance, you will have a wide range of exposure to complex areas such as SEC reporting, revenue accounting, share-based compensation, acquisitions and divestitures, internal controls, quarterly earnings preparation, lease / contracts analysis, restructurings, technical research and policy implementation. This will also act as a business partner to members of our operating business units, corporate accounting, FP&A, internal audit and other functional teams to advise on the treatment of complex / technical as well as day to day issues. Our finance team as a whole plays a significant role throughout the company and as a result this will be a highly visible role.
Job Responsibilities:
• Effectively manage the financial reporting processes within our complex worldwide organizational structure, which includes multiple international legal entities
• Oversee the preparation of 10-Q, 10-K, other SEC documents and related disclosures for quarterly, annual and other required filings, including XBRL tagging through wDesk
• Assist in implementing new revenue and leasing standards (ASC 606 & 842)
• Manage the coordination of annual audits and quarterly reviews by external auditors
• Enhance the Company’s system of internal controls to ensure ongoing compliance
• Oversee the share-based compensation program managed through E-Trade
• Coordinate the preparation of Technical Accounting position memos to support accounting conclusions
• Assist in preparing quarterly earnings release documentation
• Prepare detailed supporting documentation to establish proper audit support for all SEC disclosures and provide audit documentation to the external auditors
• Work with Senior Leadership team on Internal / External Management and Audit Committee reporting
• Proactively identify issues and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes
• Oversee a team of qualified professionals supporting the external reporting function.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, MBA, MSA, or CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations is required, combined with the ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues
• 10+ years of progressive Accounting experience including Public Accounting Experience Strong written and verbal skills
• Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
