The newly created Strategy & Innovation team is responsible for working closely with the Management Committee and Leadership Teams to guide the strategic direction for Capital Group and each of our major business units. More specifically, the Strategy team is responsible for identifying, framing and analyzing the key strategic business questions that will shape how we will continue to deliver on our vision and mission.
As a Business Strategy Associate based in Los Angeles you will work with a cross-sectional of senior business leaders to deliver thoughtful, insightful contributions related to our most pressing strategic business challenges and opportunities in front of Capital. The Business Strategy Associate will work in a team setting and own key modules on strategy projects on topics such as industry insights and competitive assessments, financial modeling and analyses, consumer and market research, etc. Representative project work could include:
Developing the Long Term Corporate Strategy & Plan
Developing the growth strategy for a new Multi-Asset product line
Building the partnership framework and solution design for a new business opportunity
Responsibilities:
• The Business Strategy Associate has responsibility for significant elements of project work, including:
• Participating in project definition and idea generation.
• Planning and executing key modules for discrete projects or subsets of projects.
• Framing and driving high quality analysis and distilling key strategic insights to support executive decision making.
• Synthesizing presentation materials for senior management that frame key questions, logical fact-based recommendations and trade-offs.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years’ experience in strategy; experience at a top-tier consulting firm or strategy group within a financial services firm.
• MBA or relevant advanced degree.
• Strong analytical skills, research capabilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the proven ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences.
• Strong and demonstrated teaming skills, especially in cross-functional teams.
