Description
As a member of Santander’s retail banking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.
Responsible for researching, developing, writing, editing, standardizing and maintaining procedural and business processes documentation that supports bank IT and Operations departments and functions. Makes complex business process concepts and instructions clear, simple and usable.The consultant/P&P Technical Writer will work with team members, supervisors and senior leaders to facilitate the creation, modification and completion of policy, procedure, desktop procedures and process documentation.
This includes developing standard templates for policies, procedures, workflows and desktop procedures. The consultant is responsible for documenting existing processes and procedures and then building and working within a developed framework to review, modify, and create effective written procedures and communications in a policy documentation system (e.g. Share Point).
This involves working with team members to initiate and coordinate an effort, for a standardized method of developing, recording and communicating policies and procedural changes, devising and implementing a method for version control, and ultimately delivering a complete and all-inclusive policy and procedure manual for business units within the IT & Operations (T&O) Division.
The consultant will be responsible for gathering requirements and managing the data collection necessary for writing, revising and delivering policies, procedures and process workflow documentation.
Responsibilities
• Converts technical instructions to user-friendly language.
• Develops a thorough understanding of the different audiences content will be written for.
• Coordinates with subject matter experts and others to create and update procedures and documents.
• Works effectively with internal customers across the organization.
• Establishes strategy for ongoing development, growth and improvement of content, including keeping informed of product development activities and regulatory changes to determine the need for revisions, corrections and changes in printed materials.
• Reviews current materials and recommends updates, as required, in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
• Develops new procedures and writes or modifies existing procedures. Ensures readability and accuracy of documents.
• Creates and modifies illustrations and examples as necessary.
Qualifications
• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project).
• Between 5 - 7 years of professional experience.
• Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.
• Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
• Requires basic analytical and quantitative skills.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
• Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of Team Members.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; accurate spelling and grammar are a must.
• Experienced in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines, take initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision in complex situations.
• Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles.
