Job Responsibilities
• Work with the cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and perform development tasks to deliver solutions.
• Work independently or in a team, to design, code, test, document and debug programs of high complexity.
• While adhering to IT Project Management and Software Delivery Standards
• Support Development of new Product Portfolio in C# framework 60%
• Provide development estimates in the determination of project cost 5%
• Become familiar with and help maintain legacy C++ environment 10%
• Provide development estimates in the determination of project cost 5%
• Unit testing of all work prior to delivery 10%
• Provide Support to Product Development team as needed.
• Proper Documentation and communication of all development approaches 5%
• Research and design approaches to new complex features for implementation 10%
• Some After hour work required during software deployments
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Education/Experience
• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or related field preferred.
• 1 -2 years of progressive programming experience with 1 year of analytical experience preferred.
• 2 years of C# experience preferred.
• Work Experience in the Life Insurance industry a plus.
Requirements
• Experience in Agile Programming Methodology is a plus
• Ability to design, code, test and debug software
• Experience with development tools (Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio)
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio required.
• Experience with using source control software (TFS)
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience working with MS Office with emphasis on MS Excel
• Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to thrive and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, detailed oriented environment
