Your role on our team
This is a unique opportunity within the Control Group that will focus on several areas of the business. This position will work closely with our industry reps to provide quantitative and qualitative data and analysis to the control group.
As a data analyst, you’ll use your passion for problem solving and ability to communicate data in a business environment to work closely with top stakeholders making critical decisions on company initiatives. Using mathematical concepts and data modeling, you’ll match data from multiple sources to identify trends, prepare analysis and make recommendations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Continually review methodology and procedures for relevance; develops new methodology or procedures to accommodate program changes
• Gathers information from various querying tools and research methods to produce and interpret standard reports for division use
• Analyzes past trends that can be predictive of future business performance
• Researches competitor information and analyzes the impact on our business
• Researches changes in the regulatory environment of the state(s)
• Formulates conclusions from analyses and independently recommends effective solutions
Must have qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Statistics) and a minimum of 2 - 4 years analytical work experience in a professional setting
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 – 7 years property casualty insurance experience with related analytical experience (e.g., analytical work in a professional setting)
What we look for:
• Intermediate MS Office skills including intermediate skills in Excel including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets, including v-look-up, pivot tables, charts and graphing
• Proven aptitude for learning and using data analysis reporting tools
• Basic to intermediate SAS and SQL programming skills including the ability to create basic programs
• Ability to prepare reports and conduct presentations
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly
• Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, adapt to new situations and learn quickly
