Data Analyst Sr
Claims Control is looking for a strong Data Analyst Sr to help support the File Owner agenda. As a Sr Analyst you will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of Claims processes and provide valuable business insights through data story-telling. The anticipated scope of work for this position includes leading and supporting discretionary projects (CBA, success and monitoring measures, analytical support), analyzing complex business problems, interacting directly with our business partners and other leaders across Progressive, and providing mentorship within a collaborative team. Your work will influence the entire Claims organization by providing actionable insights. Duties & responsibilities
• Apply advanced analytical and technical methods in order to solve complex business problems
• Translate work into simple and clear language and visuals
• Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with various levels and roles
• Help others learn analytical skills and tools
• Utilize data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Work independently with a high degree of autonomy
Must have qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Statistics) and a minimum of 4 years analytical work experience in a professional setting
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years property casualty insurance experience with related analytical experience (e.g., analytical work in a professional setting)

• Thorough understanding of business processes and systems knowledge.
• Knowledge of Big Data concepts, practices and terminology.
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office with advanced skills in Excel with knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including v-look-up, pivot tables, charts, graphing and macros.
• Database experience including the ability to create PowerPoint graphs, tables and information reports in slide format.
• Proven aptitude for learning and using data analysis reporting tools.
• Highly proficient in programming skills, i.e., SAS, R and SQL.
• Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.
• Ability to prepare reports and conduct presentations.
• Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
• Negotiation skills and ability to influence others by educating and sharing information.
• Presentation skills and ability to present information in various ways to meet audience needs.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly.
