Sr Director, RFP Leader
Directly and through staff, manages and coordinates the operational activities for Proposal Team. Ensures quality service and effective operations support for all of the assigned internal and external customers. Accomplishes results through the effective management of staff that may range from lower level non-exempt through exempt level professionals. Administers corporate policies and procedures and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Participates in the review and recommendation of proposal systems and procedures affecting assigned units, coordinating system conversions from an operations perspective.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manages the activities for the Proposal Team by planning and scheduling departmental activities including workload and coordinating with related departments ensuring that schedules are met.
2. Reviews and recommends new methods and procedures to ensure processes are efficient.
3. Participates in the development and enhancement of training procedures or programs which will support proposal user tools and materials.
4. Has overall responsibility for ensuring proposal content is updated on a regular basis by all Subject Matter Experts and complies with all Legal and Compliance reviews and requirements.
5. Interfaces with Sales/Relationship Management divisions and Product/Marketing Managers to solve for open content questions. Follows up with resolution of problems to ensure timely response to ensure proposal deadlines are met.
6. Implements and monitors tracking and performance monitoring mechanisms. Provides reports to keep senior managers informed of proposal activities; makes formal presentations to senior management as required.
7. Maintains knowledge of all products and services. Keeps informed of new or changing developments, products, services or ideas which would affect proposal content. Develops new content as needed.
8. May develop, monitor and track ongoing performance against goals.
9. Plans, develops, implements and controls assigned organization and budget functions.
10. Ensures that assigned area is adequately staffed and that all personnel are trained. Manages hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards and reviews. Approves employee time records, work assignments, vacations, sick pay, etc. Implements and executes employee relations policies, training programs and various other human resources programs and policies.

Qualifications
SPECIFICATIONS:
• Extensive business writing experience in sales support, proposal generation, marketing, communications, publishing or print media.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field preferred.
• People and project management experience required.
• Superior writing, editing, proofreading skills.
• Ability to quickly assimilate new information regarding specific product and technical topics.
• Ability to write accurately about a topic or concept immediately after introduction.
• Ability to manage the process of developing, planning, and managing proposal content and approaches for assigned business lines, and delegate work to staff.
• Ability to take lead role in interacting with a variety of people in all areas of the organization, from technical to executive staff.
• Experience in developing and delivering training to staff preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively on unfamiliar topics to elicit technical and program information necessary to answer client questions.
• Strong organizational and project/time management skills.
• An eye for presentation and details a must.
• Ability to manage routine administrative tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Possesses technical skills to adapt to, and quickly gain proficiency in, new software and proposal tools used by the team including graphics packages and image design.
