Position Title Loan Specialist - Builder Lending
Job Summary The Loan Specialist is responsible for supporting the Senior Loan Specialist (SLS), Relationship Manager (RM), and the Portfolio Manager (PM) in all aspects of servicing construction and development loans, by ensuring internal and external clients are receiving required information within a timely manner. Responsibilities include assisting the SLS to process new unit loan closings, input loan budgets, monthly loan draws, monitor loan sublimits, monitor and updates unit loan status, assists with appraisal engagement and system input, updates inspections in the AFS loan system, assists the SLS with reconciling borrowing base certificates, monitors DDA for NSF activity, and coordinates with Commercial Loan Operations (CLO) on various loan servicing tasks including tracking pay off requests and invoices.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist with processing and reviewing monthly draws
• Assist with Processiggng Borrower Loan/Construction Start requests and Lot purchases
• Review, Reconcile, and update Client inventory and borrowing base reports
• Order and review appraisal reports and flood certifications
• Submit and Track invoices and review and distribute Interest statements to clients
• Submit closing packages to CLO for review and closing/booking, including preparing wires and monitor DDA for NSF
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent is required.
• Experience in loan processing, including construction draws and booking loans preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in banking operations, which includes 2+ years of experience in builder finance loan operations. Familiarity with commercial loan documentation and funding terminology.
