Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Director of Product Development to join Kemper Benefits a business unit of Kemper Corporation. This position will oversee all aspects of product development as it relates to our voluntary employee benefit portfolio of products. This position can work from our Dallas, TX, Oklahoma City, OK offices or remote from home for the right candidate.
Position Responsibilities:
• Directs the preparation and execution of Product strategies to achieve profitability and growth for Supplemental Health, Critical Illness, Accident, Whole Life, STD, Dental/Vision and cancer products marketed on a voluntary basis in the mid-large employer segment.
• Directs the complete review process, including plan design, premium planning, proposal process, competitive intelligence and the implementation of all pricing and product changes working effectively with actuarial, marketing and compliance areas.
• Collaborate and coordinate with both internal resources and external distribution partners to ensure that portfolio remains current and competitive with market and consumer demands.
• The ability to attract and develop additional staff as warranted to meet growth and performance expectations.
Position Qualifications:
• Five or more years of experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge of product development processes as it relates to voluntary employee benefit products.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze data and develop strategic recommendations.
• Demonstrates the ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner.
• Ability to gather information from multiple parties to ensure all perspectives are heard and considered; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas, thoughts, and questions; express one's self effectively in various settings to obtain desired results.
