The Ascensus Internal Audit Team is responsible for evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of the firm’s control environment and enhancing and protecting organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insight. As a key member of the team, the Manager of Internal Audit is responsible for the development, execution and oversight of the Ascensus audit plan and facilitation of the risk assessment program.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Set and execute on the audit and risk assessment strategy for the firm to assess the effectiveness of controls, efficiency of operations, and compliance with procedures
• Supervise and develop talent and competencies of audit staff
• Establish and maintain the audit universe and control tracking database and execute on the annual audit and risk assessment plans
• Consult with business leaders on the applicability and effectiveness of their controls, and specifically on controls instituted to address audit findings
• Provide support for external audit engagements and risk assessments, as necessary, including partner audits and SOC1 and SOC2 reports
• Draft, review, finalize and communicate audit deliverables, memos and audit reports to senior leadership
• Promote and advocate a culture of risk awareness and control adherence across the organization
• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

• Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
Supervision
• The manager will supervise a small team of internal auditors
Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
• CPA or CIA certification
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, risk management or other related field preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of audit management experience, preferably in financial services
• Proven ability to resolve issues in a timely manner and/or create and implement long-term solutions to complex issues
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and effectively build relationships across all levels of the organization as well as externally with partners and regulators
• Ability to multi-task and respond to unplanned issues while adhering to aggressive deadlines for multiple initiatives
• Ability to stay abreast of applicable laws and regulations and understand relevant industry trends and events
• Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all functional areas and levels of seniority
• Self-motivated, proactive, and energetic team player
• Proven ability to proactively identify areas for process improvement, and to turn recommendations into actions
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented, PC proficient, flexible, committed to quality
