Essential Functions
• Management of daily operations of the ITP function. Has significant responsibility for developing the capabilities of direct reports. Determines operational objectives and priorities for the work group.
• Day-to-day analysis of potential insider threat events and apply procedure to determine next steps.
• Serves as the primary point of contact with the Security Operations Center as potential insider threat events are detected and require further analysis.
• Monitors existing policies and applicable regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Develop plans, suggestions to improve ITP process, controls and monitoring model based on First American’s business model. Implements strategic policies by leveraging best practice frameworks, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Creation of detection methods for the discovery behavior patterns that may indicate malicious intent by insiders.
• Tests existing behavioral models for continuing effectiveness.
• Participates in evaluation of technologies to enhance detection capabilities of behavioral models.
• Applies judgement to highly sensitive information to determine appropriate engagement and escalation required.
• Management of program to established ITP roadmaps. Key contributor to long-range planning for the department and provides input to strategic planning for the IT Operations function.
• Coordinates with key stakeholders to follow-up on potential insider threat events, including HR, legal, and the business.
• Development of reporting to effectively track and communicate status of insider threat events through remediation.
• Identification and incorporation of lessons-learned to optimize current processes and procedures
• Develop and deliver stakeholder presentations to senior management which further the awareness and understanding of the insider threat program and capabilities.
• Prepares and maintains job descriptions for positions that report to him/her.
• Writes and conducts employee performance reviews and provides ongoing performance feedback. Approves salary increases. Makes hiring decisions.
• Regularly interacts with IT senior management and business unit/customer executives to resolve critical issues relating to project and/or operational requirements.
• Prepares and administers cost center budgets.
• Participation in special projects and performance of other duties as assigned.
Education
• Undergraduate degree
Licenses or Certificates
• Relevant, industry recognized security certification such as CISSP
Experience
• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in Information Security, IT Risk Management, or Insider Threat
• Minimum 5 years as a manager with direct reports
Knowledge, Skills & Technology
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Effectively communicates to all levels of the organization including operational personnel, senior leaders, and executives
• Gain support and consensus with multiple stakeholders and partners (internal and external)
• Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, with strong ability to prioritize.
• Demonstrated strong organization and time management skills.
• High attention to detail to manage, analyze and finalize investigations

• Development and maintenance program-related documentation (e.g., standard operating procedures)

• Demonstrated judgement in effectively dealing with highly sensitive information
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team including managers
• Knowledge of security administration concepts, theories and practices
• In-depth knowledge of IT and Information Security control standards and frameworks (NIST, COBIT, ISO27001, SSAE16/SOC1/SOC2, etc.)
• Familiarity with design of controls and ability to leverage relevant tools from around the organization including Security Operations tools (SIEM, ATA, DLP, etc.), Physical Security tools (CCTV, Badging Systems, etc.)), Identity and Access Management tools
• In-depth knowledge of MS Excel
• Team player with positive energy and good customer service skills
• Ability to work independently, demonstrates initiative, and is a self-starter
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
