Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVES
Greets and directs customers to insure prompt, efficient and courteous service. Using more advanced techniques, meet the financial needs of both the business and consumer clients, while managing the Bank's cost of funds through a new account opening process that focuses on relationship building. Cross sell bank products and services through a consultative needs based selling approach. Assists customers with questions and resolves issues relating to existing accounts and bank products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Greets and directs customers upon entering the Bank or by phone, using the ISB established Service and Sales Standards.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all bank products and services, including lending products, with a solid understanding of the features and benefits of each.
• Profile business and consumer clients to determine financial needs and through a consultative needs based sales approach, open appropriate products and services to meet those needs.
• Actively profile for future business by uncovering potential business that is held by competitors and asking for that business.
• Make appropriate referrals to other business lines, including commercial and business banking based on information obtained through profiling.
• Manage sales and service process; follow up activities and referral lead generation through active use of the Bank's 360 View CRM system.
• Maintain appropriate tickler system to ensure prompt follow up on all leads and discoveries through profiling process.
• Maintain strong knowledge of competitor offers, rates and products
• Completes file maintenance via the computer as needed including: name and address changes, rollovers, stop payments, processes customer check orders linking accounts and statements, overdraft protection, account closures, share loans, etc.
• Sells and redeems savings bonds and travelers' checks and updates appropriate logs.
• Assists customers with problems and questions regarding existing accounts and products.
• Orders new and replacement ATM cards and processes pin changes as required. Updates appropriate logs.
• Issues replacement passbooks, completes and updates appropriate paperwork and logs.
• Processes outgoing wire transfers and collections.
• Processes outgoing wire transfers and collections.
• Prepares CTR form on appropriate transactions.
• In some branches, opens, closes and processes billing for safe deposit boxes.
• Performs Consumer Loan closings as required.
• Maintains brochure inventory and displays.
• Demonstrate ISB Core Values in all actions.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements
• A high school education with at least 3 (three) years in a Customer Service or comparable retail experience is required.
• A college degree is preferred.
• A complete knowledge of the personal banker position is required.
• Complete understanding of the OSI system necessary to perform accurate work is required.
• Knowledge of office equipment required.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Position requires flexibility and willingness to travel to other locations/branches and to adapt to schedule changes during the workday to include evenings, Saturdays, lunch hours and break times.
• Must be available to attend after hour training as needed.
