This Program Owner role will be accountable and responsible for delivering solutions that satisfy stakeholder needs. As part of that role, the Program Owner will provide subject matter expertise, drive requirements development and manage related projects as needed. Project assignments will be diverse, vary in complexity, and span multiple business areas to provide Vendor solutions and Professional Services for our Distribution Partners.
Additionally, the Program Owner will play a role in overall production support for the Distribution Platforms team.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
• Develop a deep subject matter expertise related to electronic submission of new business working with a diverse set of e-Submit models that vary in complexity
• Establish credibility and build relationships with our key Distribution partners by understanding business needs and clearly articulating vision, approach, assessment results and execution strategies
• Liaise between the Business organization and Technology to develop new or improved business processes that satisfy the strategic roadmap
• Lead key projects for the Life Distribution Platforms team that will span multiple business areas and vendor solutions
• Collaborate with business subject matter experts to assess business processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and reduction of operational risk
• Develop and/or participate in project scope and requirements gathering associated with new projects
• Providing direct oversight of external Vendor’s professional services effort for related projects, ensuring accurate integration with AIG’s systems for a true end-to-end straight thru process
• Perform root-cause analysis of issues, creating and implementing contingency plans and solutions for remediation
• Coordinate the development of training material or communications to prepare the business for enhancements
• Provide Tier 1/2 production support for overall Distribution Platforms programs.

• Able to manage planning, implementation, and tracking of projects to ensure the business outcomes are achieved and effective handover for ongoing support is in place
• Individual thinker with the ability to identify and drive new uncharted solutions
• Self-directed and capable of leading a team of professionals across multiple business areas
• Positive role model with the ability to work independently or in conjunction with co-workers of all levels
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Experience using MS Office products as well as MS Project and Visio
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) which includes facilitation techniques and presentation skills
• Experience in a changing and fast-paced organization while being comfortable with ambiguity
• Strong project planning and management skills with ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
• Familiarity with project management and change management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams and external parties.
• Insurance industry experience desired
• Understanding of XML or Accord standards a plus.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors Degree (or equivalent)

3-5 years
