Description
This position, reporting to the Head of Fraud Risk Management, will be responsible for the identification, detection and prevention of fraud risks across all of Santander’s checks, wires, ACH, transfers, and deposit products. Leading a team of fraud risk professionals this role is critical in further enhancing the Fraud Risk Management program.
Responsibilities:
• Promoting a risk culture and ensuring adherence to the Fraud Risk Management policy.
• Identification, detection and prevention of fraud risks across all of Santander’s payments and deposit portfolios.
• Continually assessing and executing the banks new account origination strategy coupled with risk controls and technology. Ensuring the right availability and open-to-buy strategies are applied for all deposits and payments.
• Attract, retain and develop a group of high performing risk professionals who will drive the business mandate forward and add value to the larger organization (tangible and intangible).
• Continually illustrating a collective story through internal, external and industry best practice data to inform business decisions and drive performance.
• Continually challenging the status quo and staying well educated in the latest fraud capabilities used by the industry.
Qualifications
• MBA degree preferred.
• 10+ years of fraud risk management experience with a focus in payments (checks, wires, ACH, transfers) and deposit products including overdraft.
• Ability to build strong relationships through collaboration, people leadership and development, execution of strategy and deliverables, autonomy and self-starter mentality, strong presentation building and delivery skills, and the ability to drive change across verticals with no direct authority.
• Advanced qualitative and quantitative skills, SAS, SQL and transforming data analytics into executable information.
• Extensive knowledge of payments and deposit products including knowing the intricacies of how they work, the risks and controls needed.
• Ability to influence without authority; make calculated but firm decisions recognizing the need to escalate.
• Having a self-starter mentality and autonomy driving the execution of strategy and deliverables.
• Ability to lead by example in the balance of enabling business growth, a positive customer experience and managing fraud risks within the defined risk appetite of the company.
• Strong communications skills coupled with the ability to craft meaningful presentations and delivery messages.
• Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills. Experience pulling and analyzing data to make informed decisions.
