Job Purpose:
The Director, Talent Management, Acquisition & Retention is responsible for CUNA Mutual’ s talent experience through programs, strategies, policies and delivery across talent acquisition, employee development and retention.
General Profile and Scope
• Provides leadership to managers and professional staff
• Accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams, working with leaders to identify improvements in the discipline/department
• Develops discipline/departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities
• Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and drive the execution of CUNA Mutual’ s talent strategies to ensure the company attracts, develops, and retains the appropriate level of human capital to meet its short and long term strategic business objectives.
• Own DE&I retention plans in alignment with DE&I Strategy. Through partnering with DE&I build acquisition strategies for Diverse talent.
• Develop onboarding policies and programs and retention strategies across the organization and within our employee experience programs.
• Develop talent strategies, policies programs and procedures - from sourcing, onboarding, development and retaining top talent.
• Develop and drive the strategic direction of the learning and development function to ensure the company has the right programs, processes, and technology in place to provide employees the appropriate knowledge and skills at all levels within the organization.
• Lead the strategic direction of the talent acquisition function to ensure the company is attracting and acquiring the right talent at the right time to help the company meet its objectives.
• Provide thought leadership by working collaboratively with other HR leaders and leaders in the business to develop and drive the company’s strategic approach to talent data and analytics. Maximize enterprise talent systems to enable strategic decisions and manage a metric driven business
• Utilize insight from the candidate and employee experience to drive strategic and operational decisions.
• Build a robust leadership pipeline by partnering with the CHRO and other HR leaders to develop and drive the strategic approach to the company’s talent assessment and succession planning processes.
• Understand, evaluate and prioritize talent best practices for CUNA Mutual; updating processes based on new and emerging talent trends
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of talent acquisition and development experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years managing a team with proven results
• Demonstrated ability to manage performance of direct reports, including developing less experienced talent
• Experience talent acquisition and development strategies and ability influence and partner with business leaders
• Demonstrated experience in diversity, equity and inclusion practices for attracting, developing and retaining talent.
• Ability to be strategic towards business outcomes and manage metrics and daily deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, and remain focused under pressure
• Demonstrated consultative skills and ability to use data to influence decision making
• Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
• Able to translate business needs into human capital practices
• Understanding of a customer, consumer or employee experience approach
