Job Description Summary
Implements internal and external communication efforts across a broad range of strategic initiatives and programs; and with direction, writes targeted, compelling copy for a variety of audiences (employees and customers) and sales channels (including direct mail, print ads, web, email, TV) and manages legal and team review. Maintains a working knowledge of all applicable business, procedures, products and policies that would affect the accuracy and context of the content as well as key external news and information sources relevant to the industry and/or business unit.
Responsibilities
• Develop content, write and edit messages for marketing materials and campaigns, including direct mail kits, e-mail messages, websites, newsletter articles, announcements, memos and presentations.
• Execute projects and programs and be responsible for copy approval process through legal and brand on all advertising generated. Also works with Print Production/Processing as required for program set up and management.
• Understand the business’s specific goals and identifies how communication initiatives will support the goals.
• Collaborate with internal partners/business areas to develop and execute effective communication initiatives throughout their distribution channel.
• Collaborate with marketing creative services team to ensure brand and message consistency.
• Help manage activities with outsourced agency or freelance relationships.
• Work in partnership with and under general direction of creative director and business unit marketing directors and managers.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or a closely related field or equivalent experience.
• Three years of internal/external communications experience.
• Proven copywriting and editing skills across a range of media (e.g., web, print, video, presentations) and styles from conceptual to journalistic.
• Advanced writing and proofreading skills.
• Project management experience from concept to completion.
• Advanced skills using MS Office, including PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
• Insurance/financial services or related industry experience.
• Copywriting experience with a concentration in direct response.

• Interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal partners/business areas.
