Position Summary:
Voya Financial in Downtown Minneapolis is looking to add a Team Lead to the Employee Benefits billing team. In this role the team lead will provide guidance to internal teams supporting customer sales and implementation processes. Additionally they will communicatewith Clients, TPAs, Client Reps and Sales Reps on billing questions and consult on best practices related to billing solutions.
Position Description:
Role assigned to communicate with sales territory leadership in data file standards and billing related inquiries.
1. Interface with Clients, Client Management, Financial, Underwriting and TPAs, regarding new account setup and premium support activity:
• a. serving as a resource for questions and problem-solving regarding ongoing billing support
• b. working with clients post sale through the installation process by assisting with data file setup and standard billing practices
• c. acting as the billing liaison between IT, Sales, and Clients
• d. creates and maintains billing best practices and updates external and internal documentation
2. Performs complex research and analysis of reconciliation variances to accounts and takes appropriate action to resolve & explain variances to the client.
3. Prepares custom reporting and analysis to drive conversation to both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Provide detailed financial support to all functional areas relative to billing.
5. Monitors assigned territories to ensure the health of the accounts as well as any variance from expected premium.
6. Create and innovate monthly financial, suspense, collections, commissions, and variance reports.
7. May participate in an annual audit of premiums paid.
8. Provides on-the-job training to employees in Billing Services.
9. Reviews and acts on quality assurance results to drive training and coaching opportunities for employees in Billing Services.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience:
• A 4 year degree from an accredited institution
• 5+ years relevant work experience in Billing, Accounting or Benefits Administration.
• Strong communicator with the ability to interact with all levels within an organization.
• Ability to utilize critical thinking to problem solve complex accounting issues.
• Extensive understanding of the billing and premium reconciliation process.
• Strong Excel skills – ability to create pivot tables.
• Ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
• Self-motivator
• Strong mathematical, analytical and writing skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational, follow-up and follow through skills.
• Demonstrated drive for superior service both internally and externally.
• Excels at balancing numerous priorities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and as art of an internal and external team.
