This highly visible position works within the Experience Studies Department reporting to the Vice President and Actuary and supports our Group Retirement annuity business by effective delivery and communication of analysis, results and recommendations to our internal customers. These customers include both actuarial and non-actuarial parties within finance, pricing, audit, risk management, and leadership of the Group Retirement business.
The position's responsibilities include quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reporting of results; development and maintenance of regular studies; recommending and implementing studies and methods of presenting results effectively to a broad audience, potentially including developing dashboard tools; working with data support staff to streamline collection and maintenance of historical data; assumption recommendations and testing; and responding to audit requests. The position would also recommend methodologies and tools for analysis including development and implementation of predictive analytics. The position works closely with the line of business Chief Actuary and Chief Finance Officer organization to develop accurate, actionable analysis for decision makers.
The candidate must be skilled in: customer relationship building and maintenance; verbal, visual and written communication of both technical and non-technical concepts and results in a business setting; project prioritization; management of a small team of actuaries; and team development.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have
FSA, minimum 10 years of experience including 3 in a managerial role. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work with team members and customers in geographically diverse locations. Predictive modeling experience helpful but not required.
