Summary of This Role
TSYS is looking for a strong business leader who is passionate about developing products and teams that create a seamless merchant and partner on-boarding/set-up experience in preparation for processing transactions using the TSYS authorization/capture and clearing/settlement platform. This leader will be responsible for the care and nurturing of the products and platforms supporting the full lifecycle from acquisition of the client, underwriting, risk assessment, onboarding, pricing, product enablement, and transacting. This is done by researching and analyzing opportunities which are consistent with the organization’s long range and strategic plans, and partnering with Sales and Information Technology Engineering teams to launch new products and enhancements to existing products.
Responsibilities
• Manages a team of 3-5 Product Managers
• Oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, define strategy relative to the capabilities of the product suite
• Partner with sales teams, clients, relationship management teams, consultants, and internal and external partners to define growth strategies, pricing strategies, partnerships, communications, and strategies for new products and services
• Works on a variety of product initiatives that may involve enhancements to existing products or new product launch
• Gathers product requirements in support of new product development
• Identifies specific clients to market existing and new products, formulates strategy, and delivers presentations of new products and services.
• Negotiates with vendors during process design and implementation of existing products and services. Lead efforts to negotiate contracts with vendor
• Monitors performance of multiple products; gathers, analyzes and interprets data. Incorporate improvements into product backlog
• Communicates and partners with Executives and division leaders to identify and evaluate ongoing strategic growth opportunities for products
• Develops business cases for new products or solutions to serve as inputs to decision-making, prioritization, pricing, and client value proposition
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree a plus
• 10+ years Product Management experience
• 5+ years People Management experience
• Experience in Payments Industry a plus
• Proven experience leading Product Teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Hands-on experience defining product requirements including activities required to launch the product in the market
• Proven experience leading initiatives from concept through project execution, including documenting process flows and product documentation
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives efficiently
• Ability to work with customers and vendors at both a business and technical level
• A unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and negotiation skills with cross-functional teams, customers and management
• Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Comfortable working with multiple teams, in-house and remote
• Travel required (approximately 25%)
