Purpose of Job
We are currently seeking talented Director, Business Process Consulting - Claims for our San Antonio, TX, Chesapeake, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, Phoenix, AZ or Tampa, FL facility.
Oversees the development of business process related solutions for clients. Viewed by customers as a consultant. Defines client needs, determines a strategy and develops a plan/proposal for delivery of the project which generally leads to a client’s internal process or function being modified for improved efficiency and effectiveness. May involve the recommendation to shift future performance to a third party. Performance is typically measured by the capture of the business opportunity and/or utilization, (i.e., by billable hours for the department) or performance against budget. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Job Requirements
• Directly manages individual contributors and/or people-managers.
• Performs workload management and prioritization duties in support of operations for the functional area assigned.
• Applies subject-matter-expert functional knowledge to lead subordinate workers in producing work deliverables in support of departmental initiatives.
• Identifies opportunities and facilitates major improvements to processes and systems.
• Develops functional policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Performs complex tasks under minimal supervision and has discretion to deviate from established procedures and guidelines.
• Serves in an advanced managerial capacity and has responsibility for performance management and professional development activities for subordinate workers
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree. 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a Degree.
• 8 or more years of progressive related experience required.
• 3 or more years of direct team lead or management experience required.

Preferred
• 4+ years Process management experience OR Claims experience
• Master’s degree or professional designations in fields related to analytics, business, or insurance
• Six Sigma – Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience with business analysis and basic statistics
• Proven experience in leading and managing teams
• Strong project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks and create appropriate controls
• Demonstrated experience documenting processes or procedures
***Selected candidates will attend and complete the Management Development School program in San Antonio, TX, during their first six months in position.***
