JOB INFORMATION
The VP for Operational Risk Management leads the Company's approach and second line of defense for managing operational risk companywide. S/he will use their operational risk management and governance expertise to support the Company in attaining regulatory safety and soundness, and prudently manage risk exposure from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, technology, or from external events. The VP for Operational Risk Management reports to the SVP, Head of Operational Risk Oversight.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Providing the oversight and management of the Company?s Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework, including:
• Operational risk strategy, objective setting and coverage plan Risk governance and policy management
• Risk identification, assessment, response and monitoring processes (including but not limited to the Risk and Control Self Assessment, risk appetite, internal incident, operational loss modeling and scenario analysis processes)
• Chairing the Operational Risk Committee, a Fannie Mae Management Level Committee with delegated authority from the Company?s Board of Directors.
• Assessing an enterprise-wide view of the most significant, current, and emerging operational risks in pursuing objectives, and ensuring appropriate actions are in place to mitigate these risks.
• Ability to effectively challenge the first line of defense.
• Championing and effectively leading the integration of current risk and governance management processes and systems into the Risk Works program, the Company?s approach to consistent risk management companywide including the implementation of the shared enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance platform, MetricStream.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• 10+ years of related experience
• 8+ years of managerial experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Years of relevant experience: 5-10 required.
• Years of managerial experience: 5 required. 8+ preferred
• Highly effective communicator at all levels
• Experienced leader of change
• Skilled in quantitative analytics
• Applied knowledge of control design and/or business process analysis
• Experience operating in a highly regulated environment with direct regulatory contact
• Computer proficiency in various software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Bachelor's degree required in finance, operations, business or related field; Master's degree preferred
