Job Description
The Allstate Life and Retirement Distribution Education position is responsible for ALR Distribution regulatory education in partnership with Field Sales Leadership. This includes influencing compliant education via training, communications, recruiting and product education.
Job Summary
You will help perform, coordinate and direct analysis and development of more complex ALR Distribution education pertaining to broker-dealer operations and agency processes through BD projects and programs. You provide technical mentorship, recommendation and implementation of process improvements to achieve increased standards. These projects could be associated with training, securities sales and/or product training for registered home office employees, Allstate PFR’s and/or Field Sales Leader education and communications. You are also responsible for the training and education program for Broker Dealer employees which consists of new hire and continued education training.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Process Communication
• Identifies, develops, approves, facilitates/conducts and evaluates all ALR Distribution education, product, technology, licensing, compliance and agency education programs/needs for BD employees, PFR’s and FSL’s
• Maintains communications between regions/territories on all matters pertaining to agent/agency and field sales leadership education and development programs related to ALR
• Crafts, leads, facilitates, monitors and measures internal and external education communications, events and vehicles
• Develops presentations and speeches for officer and/or senior leadership
• Ensure adherence to compliance rules, policies, procedures and standards
Project Management
• Handles coordination with BD Compliance Team on monitoring regulatory and compliance updates and evaluation for implementation into education programs
• Plans, implements, leads, and/or contributes on projects that are moderate to high complexity and or large scale key initiatives using accepted project management standards
• Coordinates/evaluates project controls by all impacted AORs
• Evaluates current results, identifies variances to planned performance, analyzes causes of variance and recommends action through tracking expense plan performance
• Analyzes statistical data as it relates to programs, projects and processes of moderate complexity; provides action alternatives for improvement as appropriate
• Actively leads project related expenses
Program Management Support
• Contributes to growth and profitability by leading new/complex changes to programs by providing expertise in their respective discipline (s)
• Plans and coordinates the integration and delivery of planned changes/projects to regions/field
• Anticipates and makes observations on market specific implications of business strategies
• Integration and coordination in efforts with outside AOR’s
Leadership
• Define team priorities and activities and coach, mentor and influence team to accomplish departmental goals.
• Actively assess, monitor, report and develop bench strength for department.
• Build and demonstrate clear vision for team and compel others to that vision.
• Actively seek to connect resources across departments to share expertise when appropriate.
Job Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
• FINRA Series 6 and 26 required or the ability to acquire in the timeframe set forth by the Allstate Broker Dealer.
• Undergraduate degree in Business (or related field) is preferred
• 5+ years of experience in financial services operations
• Ability to work with highly complex and detailed information.
• Excellent organization skills, analytical skills and time management skills
• Computer Skills (EXCEL, PowerPoint, Access and Word, Microsoft Project, Visio.)
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex information in a way that others can understand.
• Ability to develop strategies
• Able to lead through ambiguous environments and be a change manager
• Knowledge of insurance industry and the outside marketplace
• Broad knowledge of Allstate Life & Retirement structure and financial processes, including products, sales and operations
• Travel Required
