Job Description
This position covers the NYC Boroughs.
The primary role of this position is to sell business banking products and services within an assigned territory. This position sources and develops prospects, acquires new customers and strengthens the relationships with existing customers by providing value-added business solutions. In addition, this position works closely with branch sales staff to sell and cross-sell products and services. This position plays a significant role in deposit and loan portfolio growth.
II. Principal Responsibilities:
Regularly contacts and calls on prospective customers at their place of business, who exhibit a strong potential to generate significant revenue for the organization to initiate new client relationships to meet production goals. Meets with existing customer base to identify business opportunities and strengthen and expand business relationships; focuses on customer relationship management. Facilitates loan application process.
Manages portfolio of loans, monitors portfolio for trends and issues, works with client to address concerns. May work with management to resolve more complex or escalated issues.
Works in conjunction with Business Services Officers to promote Merchant, Payroll and Workplace Banking initiatives and provides a pipeline of business. Collaborates with other business lines to fully expand customers’ total banking relationships.
Participates in non-profit organizations and community events to establish and maintain the organization’s presence in the community. Attends networking functions and events to leverage contacts for business results.
Continually develops and maintains specialized knowledge of small business products including deposit products, loans, and business services. Cross sells products and services to small business customers and prospects.
Educates branch sales staff on small business loan and deposit products, lending concepts and sales techniques. Participates in joint calling with branch sales staff to develop new small business relationships.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
Job Requirements
College degree or equivalent work experience.
5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in NYC markets.

Ability to be resourceful and comfortable utilizing internal and external contacts in the pursuit of new business.
In depth knowledge of financial products and services; expertise in business products and services including cash management and business lending.
Ability to listen to customer needs and to inform, educate and influence customers to effectively sell appropriate products and services.
Excellent customer service focus, written, verbal and presentation skills are needed to service existing and potential customers in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
Excellent PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets and internal loan and deposit systems.
Extensive knowledge of small business loan products, lending concepts and sales techniques.
