Job Description
The AML Compliance Manager manages the daily activities of an assigned group related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and/or Customer Identification Program (CIP). Provides direction, setting goals, evaluating results and ensuring that overall departmental goals are attained. Ensures that ongoing activities are performed according to established policies and procedures. Leads the development of group policies and procedures and assists staff with complex questions and issues as necessary.
Job Requirements
•Proactively support the identification of issues, trends and opportunities, and bring forward recommendations based on judgment and facts
•Lead efforts to prepare framework to succinctly take complex data and translate it into clear and concise recommendations
•Provides ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making at the senior executive level.
•Mines customer, account and transactional data to develop segmentation to improve AML monitoring and controls.
•Converts analytic and business intelligence insights into recommendations for specific AML initiatives, developing the business case and performing on-going analysis to ensure the efficacy of the program.
•Support execution with excellence on key initiatives/programs
•Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency
•Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program, and project managers
•Prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines
•Collaborate with internal and external AML business partners to shape and prioritize ad hoc analysis
•Apply judgment, discretion and collaborate with internal partners to navigate and resolve ambiguous issues
•Review and/or contribute on the presentation of insights back to executive leaders / business partners to drive strategic improvement
•Designs champion/challenger strategies that lead to ongoing learning and improvement.
•Directs the development of standard reports, summaries and other processes/procedures to more effectively manage market data, opportunities and results.
•Uses data analysis to help guide all decision making by project members and key stakeholders. Role model behaviors consistent with TD's leadership profile, customer and employee experience agendas and risk and control culture.
•Lead, coach and develop a highly effective team by ensuring on-going training and performance and development management.
•Manages investigations activities of an assigned group, responsible for activities in support of Customer Identification Program (CIP), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and/or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations designed to prevent financial-related crimes against the government according to established Company policies, procedures and legal and regulatory guidelines.
•Understands alert activity for Subpoenas, Monetary Instruments, Suspicious Activity Forms, Suspicious Transactions Forms, Structuring Activity, SAR Follow-up reviews, SAS and ad hoc AML related requests for efficient workflow.
•Participates in responding to periodic exams/audits by the Office of Comptroller of Currency (OCC), Federal Reserve, Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) and Internal Audit to determine level of CIP/BSA/AML compliance.
