The Senior Project Manager for New York Life's Registered Investment Advisor, Eagle Strategies will lead the future state automation design, workflow engineering and enhanced control environment by apply Six Sigma or Lean Sensei project methodology ensure the operating company maintains a competitive and contemporary offering. As a critical leader for the department, the individual will be charged with developing complete strategies and be responsible for executing the overall portfolio of projects necessary for change. This includes evaluating available products with key business partners (Fund Advisory, Separately Managed Accounts, Unified Managed Accounts, Representative Directed) or services/technologies that are designed to support a scalable operation and a differentiated customer experience (Operations Workflow engineering, eSignature, eDelivery, margin, CRM). This position requires the leader to think both tactically and strategically.
The Senior Project Manager primary focus is to leverage a defined delivery infrastructure and be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, execution and completion of specific projects that support the strategies, commitments and goals of the department. This position will use various tools to tactically document and manage the end to end lifecycle of each project utilizing, but not limited to, Microsoft Project.
The role provides support to business area sponsors, leads and extended project team members to define overall scope, objectives and the delivery path for implementation. This includes day to day management of critical path milestones, predecessor’s, defined timelines, deliverables and schedules. The Senior Project Manager will also interact on a regular basis with cross functional teams to identify and drive the completion of all project requirements and provide regular status updates on the overall health and progression of each effort.
Role Overview:
• Lead Project meetings for Senior Leadership
• Responsible for leading the delivery of multiple strategic initiatives using Six Sigma or Lean Sensei methodologies
• Manages and collaborates with the project core teams and key stakeholders in detecting and documenting possible risks and issues; all changes to scope and/or schedule; mitigates/escalates as needed to resolve and achieve commitments from all key stakeholders.
• Ensures status is pro-actively communicated to all key stakeholders via daily stand-ups, project meeting minutes and weekly project status reports that reflect the status of assigned projects and ensures project information is regularly shared, reviewed and discussed with all project core team members and key stakeholders.
• Lead the full project lifecycle (Initiation - Close) for assigned project and initiatives and facilitate the definition of project scope, objectives, requirements and deliverables.
• Develop full scale delivery plans, timelines and schedules.
• Effectively lead, direct and support cross functional project teams consisting of multiple work streams.
• Track and provide status updates on project deliverables and progress utilizing the appropriate tools.
• Monitor and report progress to core team and stakeholders.
• Project evaluations and assessment of results.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree – Finance or Business discipline preferred or equivalent work experience
• Certification in PMP, Six Sigma, Lean Sensei and Certified Project Manager highly preferred
• 8+ years of full cycle Project Management skills with the ability to develop and implement strategic organization initiatives
• Industry recognized courses and other relative activities highly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with listening skills
• Positive, customer focused attitude with a desire to exceed customer expectations
• Must be able to operate in a team environment and contribute to the company and team goals
• Strong technical and analytical skills required (Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Lotus Notes with the ability to navigate multiple applications during call handling)
• Extremely flexible and adaptable in responding to changing priorities.
• Strong team player who can work across organizations and teams to produce high quality project management and governance outcomes.
