Job Summary:
MUFG's Technology Strategy and Incubation (“TSI”) team applies emerging technology to get banking out of our customers' way, putting customers' money to work where they want it, when they want it, without worrying about it. While incubating these step changes in foundational tech and security, TSI’s longer term goal is upshifting to a continuous evolution of technology, to keep pace with the accelerating rate of change in financial and data marketplaces.
As a Business Process Manager*, Vice President, you will be responsible for driving measurable operating efficiencies within TSI by planning and leading business process improvement initiatives. As part of the team that’s leading the next wave of disruption, you will play an integral part in identifying opportunities to drive operating efficiencies and design effective technology solutions that support and enhance critical business processes across the entire enterprise.
This role will also assist in the development of overall business transformation strategy and organizational design for TSI.
Major Responsibilities:
• Define, design, and manage process improvement initiatives across multifunctional areas and ensure alignment with the overall organizational strategy
• Work with enterprise-wide executives and business teams to conduct gap analyses on existing policies, processes, tools and technology capabilities seeking to improve the productivity and performance of critical business functions including, but not limited to, recruiting, procurement/sourcing, communications, and risk management
• Design and leverage new technologies that will enhance productivity and inspire new and innovative ways of working
• Work cross-functionally to oversee and execute the successful implementation of multiple process improvement initiatives in collaboration with other transformation teams
• Bridge business and technical teams by being fluent in the language of consulting (business drivers, process optimization), banking, and technology
• Drive efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and innovation
• Participate in budget preparation and periodic forecasting, monitor actual vs budget, and perform prior year variance analysis
• Assist with preparation of presentations and reports to senior management
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of strategy and planning experience
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently and successfully
• Can analyze complex organizational and technical issues and identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency
• Ability to lead through influence and garner support from and for cross-functional teams
• Excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues and ideas and communicate effectively within all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive business relationships with internal partners and external vendors
• Trained as an engineer or enjoys working with engineers to develop innovative solutions to solve customer problems
• Prior experience using and adapting to new technologies
• Enjoys solving complex problems and learning about leading-edge technology
• Big 4 or top tier management consulting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with digital transformation preferred — with a solid understanding of cutting edge technology
• Possesses a strong understanding of relevant technologies and how they interact with each other
• Prior experience working in financial services
• Expertise in JIRA (or similar agile tools)
• Have experienced success with agile development methods within a waterfall oriented environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Skilled in use of vLookups, Pivot tables, formulas and charts.
• Good analytical capabilities and attention to detail
