About TCU
The Trade Capture function is a dedicated function sat within the Front Office to ensure the timely and accurate capture of contractual obligations on the Firm’s systems across the Equity Business. This involves the entering and accepting the economic terms of any trades into Trade Capture Systems, inclusive of subsequent Risk Modifying Activities on that trade, and encompasses a broad range of Trade Capture activity types and systems. This is to meet both our regulatory and internal control requirements.
Overall Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be part of the Trade Capture team which manages specific trade capture and closely related functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The team helps maintain a high degree of accuracy around trade capture, which is crucial to the firm's risk management and accurate books and records.
Key Accountabilities
◦ Trade Capture Related functions
◦ Responsible for timely and accurate Risk Modifying Activities, which includes the following:
§ Initial Trade Capture for Equity Products, Including but not limited to Structured Notes, Exotic OTCs, Vanilla Equity OTCs and Equity Swaps.
§ Lifecycle Events (product dependent but includes and is not limited to Variation trades, Expiries, Corporate Actions, Custom Index rebalancing)
◦ Responsible for exception and query management
§ Liaise with internal counterparts (i.e. Infrastructure Middle Office, Client Operations, Trade Control, Post-Trade Services, Sales, Trade Support, Legal, Finance, Compliance, New Product Services, Collateral Ops) to understand requests for entries required to ensure accurate capture into trade capture systems.
§ Report to management on requests received and completed
§ Adhere to a ‘right first time’ policy on all risk modifying activities
§ Input real-time exceptions related to regulations into Trade Capture Systems (e.g. Dodd-Frank mandatory clearing)
◦ Global head of Equity Derivative TCU Primary Responsibilities:
◦ Managing day-to-day team functions for the Global Equity Derivative TCU team
◦ Coordinate with different areas, including Technology, Product Control, Business Management, Market Risk, and Settlements to implement process, system and product changes
◦ Provide support or resolve any adhoc queries pertaining to the booking, p/l or risk representation for traders in the books
◦ Main point of contact for escalations related to Equity Derivative trade capture
◦ Other:
◦ Develop members of the team as individuals and a collective support team
◦ Drive business, control and regulatory agenda
◦ Identify improvements and influence technology teams to prioritize work that will provide benefit to team
◦ Consistent focus on improving efficiency and control
Basic Qualifications
◦ 8-12 years experience in an operational environment.
◦ Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance
◦ Series 7 or 99
Preferred Qualifications
◦ Thorough experience with complex derivatives, specifically Structured Equity Derivative Products .
◦ Familiarity and experience with the front-to-back lifecycle of derivative products.
◦ Experienced Team Manager, with prior global remit preferred
◦ Prior experience in performance management & career development
◦ Strong understanding of control framework
◦ Ability to understand complex problems quickly and move projects forward.
